Hacking MySpace

I guess Myspace are the latest to get hit by the recession with talks of them having to cut down on 30% of their staff to lower costs as it struggles to stay popular among their competition.

Recently I find myself using various sections of Myspace that I didn’t know even existed never mind use regularly. Quite a few of these sections are various Myspace Communities about things that I am interested in.

Well I’m certain that I’m not the only one who has noticed this semi-new feature that Myspace seem to be trying to throw at us on their site and get us to use. “Tom” seems to remind people about it in multiple announcements and blogs, so I thought I should say something about it here.

All I seem to hear about from friends about social networking sites is Facebook this and Facebook that - so started using it more and thought it would be good to contrast the two social networking giants here.

A combination of record high temperatures and a stressed electricity network resulted in a number of blackouts across California over the weekend, including one that hit MySpace’s Los Angeles data center. Back up generators failed, and as a result, MySpace went down on both Saturday and Sunday night.
