I am sure a lot of people have heard of the massive success applications brought to Facebook in the past couple of years. Well Myspace recently joined the applications bandwagon and I have been watching it quite closely as web applications interest me, as does Myspace.

MySpace has entered the realm of politics in a partnership with the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) to create an online portal of sorts that will feature things like real-time streaming and polling. This move marks the first deal of its kind between an internet company and the official “debate organizer.”

MySpace and Facebook are not only battling it out for users on the internet, they’re now in a face-off in regards to iPhone users. Both are already among the most frequently downloaded apps in the App Store since the store’s inception, and there’s been a heated discussion as to which one shines over the other ever since.

News Corp (MySpace’s parent company) is teaming up with Japanese Internet and telecoms group Softbank Corp to launch a Japanese version of MySpace. Amazingly, the joint venture will be called MySpace Japan.

It’s no secret that employers are now screening job candidates by googling them. Which means you might not get a job if you’ve posted something compromising about yourself on MySpace (or anywhere else), and forgotten about it, or if someone else has posted something unpleasant about you.
