Hacking MySpace

Myspace recently released “MyspaceIM” into BETA testing. It is basically an instant messenger service that you can use on Myspace’s site to speak to your friends (like the one on Facebook).

After attending a lecture about Internet security and finding the 5 minutes they spent on password security interesting (and then researching it a bit more) I thought that it might be useful to go through some points on password security here.

A lot of people in the past week have asked me how to change to the new profile 2.0 version and some have asked me how to change back from the profile 2.0 to profile 1.0 again. I thought that it would be a good idea to explain how to do both in a post here, it’ll help people who view this blog regularly and also gives me a link to point people who ask me about it to.

On Myspace I often see people attempting to make CSS “pop ups” and almost 80% of the time people run into trouble with them, so I thought that this week I would take a little time to go over how to make them work properly on Myspace.

Hiding parts of your Myspace profile is one trick a lot of people like to do. Mainly for one of two reasons; an increase in their privacy and/or for layout purposes (when creating a div layout for example).

With the ever increasing speed of everyday users Internet connections it seems to become more and more apparent to me that people are not taking any time to optimize any of their images, especially on Myspace.

When starting a group we all want it to be successful, get lots of members, be quite active and hopefully keep it focused on the topic of the group. Well I thought that as I own a pretty successful group that I would give you a few tips from my experiences.

A lot of customizing your Myspace profile can now be done quickly and easily by using the new Myspace profile editor. There are a number of pre-made themes that you can choose from but it also gives you the ability to change these themes to make them more personal, or even create one from scratch.
