I was out of the house the other day and away from any computer and was a little bored so thought I’d go online on my phone and see what Myspace Mobile was like.
Okay so I don’t have an iPhone, BlackBerry or an Android so couldn’t see what the respective applications for each of those were like but as far as I know with them you can use the whole site like you would with a normal computer can’t you? Or download the application and use that to do the same things a bit easier I guess.
How do I use Myspace Mobile?
All you need to do if you have a normal phone (not one I mentioned above) is go to the URL http://m.myspace.com and login with your existing account details (email and password) from there. After that it basically gives you a very simplified version of the site where you can check messages, comments and whatever else, browse profiles and photo albums and a bunch more.
One part of it I did like a lot was that you could upload images from your phone really easily. Okay, you have to go through an activation process to choose a 6 digit password and they give you a personalized email address which you can then send images to which will upload to Myspace relatively quickly but its not that much of a hassle for what it allows you to do.
Smart Phones
Smart phones such as the iPhone, BlackBerry and Android all have their own free applications to download and use Myspace with even more ease online. You can choose to use the application or just simply use the “classic” version of Myspace you would use on a computer.
For iPhones you simply have to visit the Myspace homepage at http://www.myspace.com and it will prompt you to download the application for your phone, you can choose to download it and use Myspace that way or cancel it and use the classic version. I think for iPhones it is also available in the application store.
On a BlackBerry you have to visit www.myspace.com/blackberry or http://mobile.blackberry.com to download the application. There are a few older BlackBerry’s that don’t support this so if you have an older version I’m sorry but you may be disappointed.
On an Android you have to download it from the android market on your phone.
All the applications are free, so if you have the phone and use Myspace on it then you may as well get them.
Overall Myspace has the ability to do quite a lot on a mobile phone and does it in a simplified way that makes things much easier for the user. I liked using it and will more than likely continue to do so.
Do you use it? If so then what do you think?
