As most of you will know (or should know), Myspace is home to a wide selection of wonderful applications ranging from simple puzzles to full blown adventure games. Well I thought that I would give some recommendations of some that I think are great applications - hopefully you will too!
I guess I’ve been hooked playing a few different applications in my spare time in the past few weeks and I thought that others might like to know what they are, maybe even try them out for themselves and see what the big deal is all about.
The Applications
1. Mafia Wars
I have to say that this was the first application that I decided to “give a go” and it has sparked something in me to try more applications and fill my boredom spare time.
In this application you start off as a rookie street thug and have to work your way up the ranks by completing missions, fighting (virtually of course) other mafia’s and by doing a few other tasks. It’s a pretty simple game when you get down to it, and I don’t know why I find it so addictive but it seems that I am not the only one.
There are a bunch of applications on Myspace that are very similar to this game and to be honest it doesn’t really matter which one you play, they all have the same idea behind them. One downside to them is that they usually rely heavily on having friends (on your Myspace) that also play it (so they can join your mafia and vice versa), so if you don’t have a lot of friends who are into playing applications like this and don’t want to be adding random people to your Myspace profile (I wouldn’t recommend it) then this probably isn’t a great application for you.
2. Superpoke
The idea is simple - do stuff to your friends and have them do stuff back to you. For example you can throw sheep/chickens/penguin at your friends, hug them, kiss them, pretty much anything you can think of is covered. Although you do need to send so many “superpokes” before you can unlock the next set (I assume this is so people keep using it - getting new features, etc).
3. Superpets
I think I get distracted by all the cute little animals, but in essence it is a pretty good application - you adopt a pet and are able to name it and do a bunch of stuff with it like pet it, feed it, clean it, dress it up, play with other friends pets, that kind of thing.
I’d say it’s probably aimed at children or girls - hence all the cute animals. So if your trying to keep up your manly image then it’s probably not the application for you!
4. Pirates
Okay so this game is pretty much the same as Mafia Wars, but with pirates instead. Using pirate lingo like “keelhaul” instead of “kills” and the other usual stuff you would expect. But I ask you: who doesn’t love being a pirate? Arrr, I sure do!
I guess this is probably just an application for any pirate lovers out there - there must be quite a few with the amount of users they have.
5. Graffiti
Now this is a very simple application that just allows you to draw and receive graffiti on your “wall” or on your friends “walls”. I guess I just like it because it’s something that I am learning about how to do myself at the moment in university (well, sort of) and I like to have a different means than just typing to communicate with friends on Myspace.
Anyway, that concludes my five recommendations of applications on Myspace. Do remember that these are just five that I have used in the past that I personally think are good and deserve some recognition - no one else has had any input into this list.
If you have any applications you think I should check out (or other people) then just leave a comment below with the link or name.
