MyAds is a relatively new (still in beta) advertising network that Myspace have launched. Mainly targeted at musicians and businesses to promote their services it should be a great place to get great targeted viewers.
Well this week I have been looking at MyAds and although it’s not really about Myspace customization or the usual kind of things I blog about I thought it might be interesting to some people.
What is it?
MyAds is a brand new (well, a few months old) advertising network for anyone who wants to advertise on Myspace.
Facebook were one of the first asocial networks to launch their own targeted advertising network and I think that Myspace have noticed that facebook have made a lot of money from doing this and so they joined in by creating something even better (in my opinion).
Myspace has a reach of around 76 million unique visitors per month (around double what facebook has and half of what google has), so it does have a considerable amount of regular users for any advertiser to target.
What is different?
One great thing about MyAds is the ability to create your own advert within the site from templates (or of course upload your own). Creating your advert is really easy to do, it’s not much harder than changing things on the new profile 2.0.
Other than that there are all the usual functions an advertising network should have - real time statistics, targeting audiences, setting a budget, etc.
I have heard from a few people that sometimes MyAds will remove your advert from running (for example if the click through rate isn’t high enough), but if your advert is good then your click through rate should be good enough to keep running.
Overall I think MyAds is a great new advertising network which I will more than likely use in the near future to advertise my Myspace resource site - Free Divs - and possibly other sites if that is successful.
