Myspace just keeps rolling out new features for everyone to enjoy these days. This time it’s a toolbar with a bunch of quite useful components on it if your a regular Myspace user.
I’m not sure how well known it is on Myspace at the moment - I haven’t seen any advertisements for it yet. It’s probably just come out and they want to test it properly before making an announcement. Although it is free for anyone to download, so I might be wrong.
Where Can I Get It?
To get it you need to go to the toolbar page and download it, then install it.
Do note that just now it will only work on Windows 2000/XP/Vista operating systems and only for Internet Explorer (6+) and Firefox (2+). Not to worry if you use Mac OSX - Myspace have said that a Mac OSX version for Firefox will be released soon.
What are the benefits?
If you download and install the Myspace Toolbar then it will give you a range of different benefits/features, including but not limited to:
- Auto Login - Automatically logs into your Myspace account for you
- Auto Alerts - Updates on new comments/messages/whatever refreshed every minute
- Myspace Search - Search the web (powered by Google)
- User Links - Quickly access your profile, comments, messages, etc.
- Customizable - Everything on the toolbar is customizable, you choose what you want to show on the toolbar (e.g. if you don’t want the search on there, just take it off).
Myspace have said that they have bigger plans for this toolbar including uploading images/video directly to your profile from it and music playlist integration. They have also said that they have other features “in the works” at the moment.
I expect that this will become a big part of Myspace, so if you use Myspace often then it would be a great idea to at least test this toolbar out. Although if your like me and use a browser that it’s not supported on (I use Opera if you are interested) then we will just have to wait and see if Myspace release a version for us.
