Hiding parts of your Myspace profile is one trick a lot of people like to do. Mainly for one of two reasons; an increase in their privacy and/or for layout purposes (when creating a div layout for example).
I realized today that I hadn’t created a post about hide codes yet, which is something I know a lot of people like to use, even on normal profiles. Some of the hide codes have changed since the book was released, the ones I will be including in this post are:
- Hiding your top friends space.
- Hiding your comments.
- Hiding your details, schools, etc.
- Hiding your blogs.
- Hiding your extended network
The Hide codes
Please remember that these codes will only cover up each section, there isn’t a way to fully remove the section from the page (so people can still view what is there by going through the source code of the page).
Hiding your top friends space
<style type=”text/css”>
.friendSpace {display: none;}
</style>
To put your “View all friends” link back on your page somewhere you can use this code, replacing xxxxxx with your friendID:
<a href=”http://friends.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewfriends&friendID=xxxxxx”>View All Friends</a>
Hiding your comments
<style type=”text/css”>
.friendsComments {display: none;}
</style>
Remember that doing this will remove the “Add comment” link on your page, to put it back just use the code below, replacing xxxxxx with your friendID:
<a href=”http://comment.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile_commentForm&friendID=xxxxxx”>Add Comment</a>
Hiding your details
<style type=”text/css”>
.userProfileDetail {display:none;}
</style>
Hiding your schools
<style type=”text/css”>
.userProfileSchool {display:none;}
</style>
Hiding your blogs
<style>
.latestBlogEntry {display:none;}
</style>
Do remember that hiding this will remove the “view all blogs” link. If you would like to put it somewhere else on your page use this code, replacing the xxxxxx with your friendID as always:
<a href=”http://blog.myspace.com/xxxxxx“>View all Blogs</a>
Hiding your extended network
<style>
.extendedNetwork {display:none;}
</style>
Remember that some of these codes hide links that you may want people to have access to. If there are any links I have forgotten to include above then you can always find a list of all the myspace links on my website.

That is not allowed by the Myspace TOS - your account will be deleted if they find out.
You probably saw it done on a Myspace sponsored page (e.g. the myspace help page).
I won’t be telling anyone how to hide the ad, if they find out on their own and are stupid enough to do it then it’s only a matter of time before the myspace admins see it and delete your page.

Shanniebabe:)) is so stuipid!She doesnt even make a good point!Tom is working really hard to make his users happy.And he also tries to make myspace a funner website.And i bet if shanniebabe:)) owned myspace than it would have porn,hackers,personal info so that sex offenders can find them and other things!But shannie,dont talk about somone behind their back expecilly if there rich.I mean who cares if somone who ownes a website is rich?You must be jelous or something.Whoevers friends with you probably get annoyed from you talking about people behind thier backs!
This is all dedicated to Shanniebabe:))
P.S.jelousy is not a good thing it means you have a problem:)

Thank you for your book Pospisil. It really rocks. You are truly a great writer. by the way people that number down at the bottom is an advertising phone line. google it and you will see that others have received calls from it claiming that they have won a cruise.
