As more and more people start to use social networking sites like MySpace, more and more personal information is making its way online.
Social search site Wink, has added a new people search feature that allows you to search for people who are using soial networking sites like Bebo, Linkedin and MySpace.
You may not believe this, but I’ve come across many MySpace users who treat their non-private MySpace profile as though only their friends can see it. Somehow they think that employers, parents, teachers, police, and dirty old men can’t see their profile. As a result, many put things on their profile that they would only want their closest friends to see.
With services like WInk are making it even easier to find this information, it’s worth pointing out that you should be very careful when posting information about yourself online. I would also suggest that you don’t use your real name.
When did a search of Wink using my name, it was able to find my Out-of-date Linkedin account, but didn’t find my MySpace account — my Linkedin profile has my real name, while MySpace profile doesn’t.

Honestly, who gets on a SOCIAL NETWORK, and is so worried about privacy?
Just went you thought everything you put online about yourself was exactly what you wanted people to know, others are suddenly afraid of exposure…..
Give it up people, E-mail is just as good as half the use you people get out of myspace after you run over to pimpmyspace.com related pages, cut and paste, then barely comment on anyones anyhting, and epect a grand flatter-fest.

Certainly the student who was expelled from the University of the Cumberlands is aware about how information on myspace can change your life. He mentioned on his myspace profile that he was gay and was promptly kicked out of the college. A link to the Chronicle of Education article is by my name.
