The secret that everyone knew about is out in the open. TheSpringBox, now renamed SpringWidgets, has been revealed as Fox Interactive’s widget platform, according to Pete Cashmore from Mashable. The announcement was made at the Widgets Live conference.
As you may recall, TheSpringBox offers a number of excellent widgets, including an RSS reader (that actually works with MySpace - no surprise considering the owner) and score boards for various sports. The widgets can be used on blogs, web sites, on MySpace, and even on your desktop.
Also announced at the conference was a partnership between Fox Interactive and Feedburner, a RSS feed management firm. Feedburner users can now create custom RSS widgets with logos.
It’s interesting to see how quickly Fox Interactive is leveraging its online properties (including MySpace) to create new ventures, explore new opportunities, and promote some its other media businesses (like movies).
I think many people who had doubts about Fox Interactive’s (New Corporation’s) acquisition of MySpace can now see that it’s part of a much bigger plan.

Where do you put the code for the widget, so that it appears on MySpace profile?
Thx
