MySpace has launched an Internet safety campaign, designed, not surprisingly, to protect teenagers from predators, and help parents and educators keep kids safe from MySpace badies.
The company is distributing copies of a “Guide to Internet Safety” through school associations and the teenage magazine Seventeen.
Some of the tips include:
- Be cautious about what information you make public
- Be careful about you post online
- Be skeptical of people who get in touch with you
It’s great to see MySpace being more proactive in educating its users (and the parents of its users) about the dangers they face online. Let’s hope it helps to make vulnerable teenagers a little less vulnerable.
