Ever wondered who’s been looking at your MySpace profile? There are a number of “trackers” around, but one of the better ones, Trakzor, has been upgraded to version 2. And it’s pretty amazing, and probably, a little scary as well.
Trakzor is free, and setting up an account involves entering an email address and password. You’ll then need to help Trakzor work out your Friend ID by entering your profile’s URL or address name. You’ll then be given code, which you’ll need to place in your profile. There are some advertising links, and if you try to strip out the links (like I did) it won’t allow you to activate your account.
It also asks that you send out a bulletin to your friends with an ad for Trakzor.
Once you have the code embedded in your profile, when you log into Trakzor, you will show a list of people who have visited your profile. Detailed information is supplied about MySpace users who are also Trakzor members, and less detailed information is supplied about MySpace users who are not Trakzor members. You can also plot where your visitors are coming from on a Google map.
While becoming a Trakzor membership allows you to track people visiting your profile, it does also reduce your privacy.
The only real problem with Trakzor is that is a little bit slow. But if you’ve ever wondered whether dirty old pervs are checking out your profile, Trakzor is your chance to find out (well assuming of course they’re not posing as 18-year-old girls).
Thanks to Mashable for the tip off.
Update (13/9/06): Trakzor only seems to be able to identify visitors to your MySpace profile who have signed up to Trakzor, or have been identified by other Trakzor users. This means that it can identify very few of the visitors to your profile. Nice idea — it just needs a more members to become useful.

Yea, blue377 is you, just a random name since it only knows your IP address. Presumably, once everyone on myspace signs up, they can look at referrers and tell you who is who.
Right now, you need to guess from the geoIP information (it should tell you a city, state) and assign it someone who you think it actually is, of course you can be wrong.
In short, you aren’t cut out for the interwebs. Quit now and do something else.
(by the way, trakzor seems to work when you hide the image and links… there’s your clue)
(okay, clue #2 is that it involves CSS, go!)
The next thing is to use adblock to block the loading of the trakzor images so you aren’t tracked… this is a bit creepy. Do all trakzor images come from one domain?

omg, i was like playing with the codes and i finally found a way to hide the trakzor image!!!
place
style type=”text/css”
in the BEGINNING of the trakzor code that u already have and place
/style
at the END of the trakzor code
and that’s it!! it really works. ooh and remember to put these codes in opening and ending brackets or watever they’re called. they look like sideways v haha

hmm..idk. are u sure u didn’t mess anything with the layout code?? and make sure that the trakzor code is either above or below all of ur layout codes. u don’t want it to be in the middle of it. if it still doesn’t work, u could get another layout that u like. ooh, and if u don’t want the layout icon to show up, find the html codes inserted in the layout and delete it. hope this helps =)

MJ, thanks for the ‘hidden’ advice. I am new to trakzor, and it’s not showing any visitors yet-but I did get it hidden.
Thanks!

I added the code to my css and now my profile has gone completely gray and ugly. I cleared the css in customize profile in attempt to reverse the action…obviously did not work. How can I get my original background back? I’ve tried to recustomize..nothing doing. By the way the original was just the basic white one. Thanks kindly. -E

so I tried Trakzor and right away I noticed that the directions are very vage and unclear.
First, it asked me to enetr my friend ID, done!
then It took me to a page that showed my profile and asked if it was mine, so I checked yes… then, it took me back to step one: enter your friend ID …(what ‘da?)
So I decided to skip this part and wonder around the site. Later I found a code that I assumed I had to paste into my profile, so I did.
Right away, the service started displaying a visitor. The ony visitor tracked is some blue377…(?)
how do I know who is this person?
Again, I tryed readiing the HELP page but the information is very vage. Any help is appreciated -
