MyChingo is a newly launched web site that allows visitors to your MySpace profile to leave audio comments.
The system can be used publically, so that new comments are displayed in the MyChingo Audio Comment System widget on your profile, or privately, so that comments are only available to you (so it’s like a voice mail system). It’s free to join, though each comment is then limited to 2 minutes. A $3.95 monthly subscription ($45 annually) takes this up to 30 minutes.
Comments are recorded using a web-based recording application via a microphone connected to your PC’s audio jack (ie the same microphone you might use for chatting online). Obviously you’ll need a broadband connection for this to work properly.
I wanted to give this a service a try (as I usually do when I post a blog), but didn’t receive a password in time to make the deadline for this blog. You can see MyChingo in action here.

http://www.snapvine.com does this and i think they do it better … in case anyone’s looking for an alternative.

QueRiquita,
No, SnapVine doesn’t do it better - first of all, the audio is recorded over a telephone connection, which at best is only 8k and therefore it sounds like crap.
Secondly, when you call the SnapVine telephone number to leave a message and your callerID information is NOT found in the SnapVine system, you are prompted to create an account on SnapVine.com FIRST and then you need to associate your telephone number with your account - you know how many missed messages that means?
Why make people jump through those hoops? Oh yeah, it’s because SnapVine.com is trying to create a HUGE membership so that they might get bought out by someone like Google or Yahoo.

Thanks for the review - the only thing I can that might be misinformative is the need for a broadband connection.
The recording is done client side(on your machine) using a java applet. Once the recording has been completed and optionally previewed, it is uploaded. Neither of which require a high-speed connection.
