An Alameda County judge is the process of deciding whether the mother of a murder suspect must take down her MySpace profile. Laura Rangel, mother of 23-year-old murder suspect Laura Medina, has been using the MySpace profile to fight for the release of her daughter.
Medina has been charged with the second-degree murder of 18-year-old Michelle Dickerson. Dickerson was travelling in a car with Medina’s boyfriend. Medina rammed her car into the car that the pair were travelling in during a high-speed chase, which resulted in a crash. The crash resulted in the death of Dickerson.
I mention this case just as another example where MySpace is allowing all sorts of situations to arise that just wouldn’t/couldn’t have played out in the same way during pre-MySpace times.
The world is changing.
