I couldn’t let the day pass without noting MySpace’s special milestone - 100 million profiles.

Of course we all know that some of these profiles are fake, and that some members have more than one profile (I think I created about four while writing Hacking MySpace), and that quite a few are promotional pages rather than member pages, but still, you have to admit that 100 million profiles is pretty impressive.
And the winner is…
Quite a few MySpace enthusiasts were trying to sign up at just the right moment to get the 100,000,000 friend ID. Someone called Rick from Dutchisimo Productions seems to have been the lucky 100 millionth member, but the account has been cancelled or deleted (you can see who got the friend ID number when you trial to mail to it).
MySpace is apparently growing at 500,000 new profiles per week. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for MySpace to reach 200 million…

lol that’s funny.. I actually tried to get that 100,000,000 friendID, I kept refreshing my regular one as soon as it got to 99,995,000, I logged off created a new account without submitting it. Then I went to use the bathroom really quick then submit, only to have missed it by almost a thousand! damnit.. but yeah I’ve noticed that they deleted the account too.. so did 100,000,001 and since I’ve mentioned I missed it by almost 1,000.. that friend ID also got deleted/canceled.
