A new social networking site, FamilyThrive, is looking for someone to help them design an innovative MySpace profile.

With more than 100 million profiles on MySpace, something tragic is bound to happen to some members occasionally, and when it does, their profile becomes a digital memorial.

Div overlay layouts are the holy grail of MySpace customization. Basically they allow you to create a profile that looks completely different to the standard MySpace profile. However, the only problem is, that div overlays are quite difficult for newcomers to understand. In this series of articles I explain exactly how to create a div overlay layout. Here’s part two.

Just two weeks after its official launch, MySpace Australia has doubled its sign-up rate from 3000 sign ups a day to 7000, according to MySpace Australia’s director of marketing and content Rebekah Horne (via Mashable).

We all know that everyone on MySpace is extremely cool and good looking (what’s that phrase - “hot at the moment”), but sometimes it is nice for cool people to project an even cooler online alter ego, and to some degree that’s the whole point of Meez, which allows you to create a 3D avatar (or in Meez parlance, a 3D ID), complete with clothes and piercings.

According to a report in Ad Age, MySpace is considering the launch a print magazine, which would profile standout MySpace members and their interests.
